Please be advised that the Protected Areas on the Central and North Coast and Haida Gwaii will remain closed to non-residents until further notice.

The risks of COVID-19 have not diminished and the safety of our people must be assured before recreational and non-essential economic activities can commence within our territories. The remoteness of our communities and limited access to health services puts us at a different level of risk, with our concerns especially for our Elders and seniors. All of us together will bear some economic hardship though expect a resumption of commerce when the danger is past.

The Haida Nation, Metlakatla, Gitga’at, Gitxaala, Kitasoo/Xai’xais, Heiltsuk, Nuxalk and Wuikinuxv respectfully request your full cooperation on this matter.

We look forward to welcoming our friends and visitors from around the world once the danger from the pandemic is passed.
