Enrollment in ICAN

We are accepting ongoing applications for the Indigenous Climate Action Network (ICAN). This initiative aims to support remote Indigenous communities in British Columbia in their Indigenous-led, community-based climate action work.

What is the Indigenous Climate Action Network (ICAN)?

The Network offers a variety of resources and support to participating communities to advance local community and climate resilience priorities and to support their Climate Action Coordinators to be effective in their work.

        Who Is eligible

        This program is open to remote Indigenous communities in BC who are reliant on diesel generation for electricity.

        How to Apply?

        To apply to join the Indigenous Climate Action Network, please complete the following steps:

        1. Download the application form (found below)
        2. Complete the Community Readiness Checklist provided in the application form
        3. Complete a Band Council Resolution to participate in the Program
        4. Submit both documents by email to climate@coastalfirstnations.ca
